The Career Hub is Launching Soon…

Make the Employability and Career Hub (EACHOT) a lynchpin in your career journey. Developed by occupational therapists, for occupational therapists, this hub is the culmination of two years of work by Dr Lisa Taylor (the Elizabeth Casson Trust’s Fellow) and her co-creators and the wider EACHOT community, providing you with a comprehensive, OT-informed toolkit for individual employability and career progression.

Inside, you’ll find resources to support every stage of your employability and career journey:

  1. Career Stories: Discover the diverse and non-linear paths OTs have taken to reach their current roles.
  2. Hints and Tips: Practical, peer-to-peer advice on everything from job applications to effective networking.
  3. Reflection Tools: Structured guides to help you unpick where you are and clarify where you want to go.
  4. Guidance on Occupational Balance: Strategies for setting boundaries, applying OT principles to your own life, and sustaining your wellbeing.
  5. Building Your Networks: From growing your professional presence, connecting with other occupational therapists, to managing imposter syndrome and leveraging feedback.
  6. Building the Evidence Base: Resources to help you meet professional responsibilities and become a more evidence-based practitioner.
  7. Opportunities Gateway: Curated signposting to mentoring, coaching, leadership programmes, and funding within the Trust and beyond.

And much more!

Lisa has some thoughts for occupational therapists preparing to use the hub:

“The EACHOT provides you with inspiration, guidance, opportunities and confidence to take ownership of your professional identity and your employability and career progression, helping you to realise your occupational potential. The EACHOT was created by occupational therapists for occupational therapists and has occupational balance at its heart. The EACHOT content helps you to make the unknown known, to expand your horizons and connections, and learn from occupational therapists who have been there and done it, to facilitate you unlocking possibilities, doing, being and becoming your best self.”
