Mentor training morning
We would like to invite OTs interested in becoming mentors for the Elizabeth Casson Trust mentoring programme to join us for our mentor training morning on Friday, 25th October, 9.30-12.30.
We hope that participants will consider joining our next cohort in February 2025.
This training will provide:
-
- Background on the Trust’s mentoring programme
- An introduction to what mentoring is, including the skills needed, tools/techniques to support mentees
- Access to the Elizabeth Casson Trust mentor development videos
- An opportunity to hear current mentors sharing their perspectives and experiences
- Next steps for programme registration
Evidence indicates that mentors:
-
- Develop transferrable skills to enhance their communication
- Extend their networks
- Understand challenges and opportunities for other OTs
- Feel more connected to their profession
- Nurture talent for a confident and skilled workforce
- Experience positive impact on their own wellbeing
Time commitments for being a mentor are modest, and the programme entails:
-
- An optional online mentor training session: Fri 25 Oct 2024 9:30-12:30
- Creating your mentor profile
- Being matched: mentor and mentee
- Forming a mentoring contract between mentor and mentee
- Six months of working together
Still feeling unsure? Read more about the programme on our website, or please get in touch with us if you have questions.
