Develop the practice of occupational therapy

The first aim in our operational framework is to develop the practice of occupational therapy, this can be achieved through the development of occupational therapists.

Conferences provide an important opportunity to learn and develop professionally. Whether this is by attending an occupational therapy conference or attending a specialty conference that is focussed on a condition or population group, the Trust has funding available.

In particular, we encourage applications to occupational therapy professional conferences from individuals who are recently qualified/ newly practicing to provide an opportunity for professional networking and socialisation.

Case Studies

I used the grant to attend the first COTEC –ENOTHE joint congress… It provided a unique opportunity to meet, network and and develop collaborations with colleagues across Europe. Occupational Therapists working in clinical practice, management, education and research from across Europe and the U.S and Canada attended the conference. The conference explored a variety of issues in occupational therapy relating to the different fields of clinical practice, education and research and policy. It included keynote addresses, oral and poster presentation, symposium, workshops and marketplaces.
