Assisting Hand Assessment Course

First, let me say thank you for funding the course, in which I learned to use AHA (Assisting Hand Assessment). With this reliable, valid assessment in place, children with unilateral upper limb disabilities may, within a play setting, now be formally assessed and reassessed; giving parents and therapists a score that records progress and also helps to set future treatment goals.The AHA assessment can form a baseline for CIMT and bimanual therapy within the department, enabling us to change and adapt our practice based on evidence, and thus promote effective paediatric Occupational Therapy (as per NICE guidelines).As well as benefiting from it professionally, I greatly enjoyed the course – which was taught in a very practical manner.
