Consortium of Universities for Global Health Conference

This grant allowed me a further opportunity to gain experience and confidence in a poster presentation at an international conference.  I was able to engage with other conference participants to explain my research as displayed on the poster, and to answer questions posed to me on the subject matter.  The poster was redesigned to reflect the theme of the conference and this allowed it to be more relevant and interesting for onlookers. Attending different aspects of the conference, including satellite sessions and themed oral presentations, allowed me to reflect on my own piece of work and to put it into perspective within the global health context. I learned that this activity need not be an intimidating experience and that these events are an amazing opportunity to network and feel that I have made a useful contribution to the academic literature already available in the field.
