Demystifying Boards and Trusteeship Course
Demystifying Boards and Trusteeship Course
This month, we’re thrilled to introduce our brand-new Occupational Therapy Personal Development and Leadership Opportunity for 2025!
This has been designed for occupational therapists in partnership with, and will be delivered by, the Directory of Social Change. This online programme equips occupational therapists with the skills and confidence to apply for and step into board-level roles.
- Have you ever considered using your OT expertise at board level in any setting?
- Are you curious about becoming a trustee for a local or national charity?
- Do you want to make an impact at board level but lack confidence or experience and don’t know where to begin?
- Being an effective board member – Gain an understanding of governance and decision-making at this level and identify the key skills and value you can bring to this role.
- Conveying confidence and credibility – Learn how you can present your OT viewpoint and take an active role in board level discussions in a confident manner. This session will also help you examine how the messages we tell ourselves influence our behaviour and others’ perceptions of us.
- Communicating with influence – Learn how we can shape our communication to achieve our personal and professional goals, build relationships, enhance understanding and, importantly, drive change in any setting.
- ‘Going for governance’ – In this final session, you will have the opportunity to reflect on your personal strengths and the next steps in taking on a board level role. After everything you’ve learned so far, are you now ready to ‘Go for Governance’?!
Don’t Miss Out!
With only 14 places available, this is a unique opportunity to gain high-impact skills – for free!
APPLICATIONS CLOSED: 17:00 BST 10th August 2025
Please note: This is a general board-level development course; it is not specific to the Elizabeth Casson Trust, nor is it any ‘fast track’ scheme for becoming a Trustee with us. However, after the course, you may want to apply for any such vacancies we might have in the future!
