Coming April 2026: “Strike A Light – The Art and Science of Occupational Therapy”
We’re thrilled to announce Strike A Light, a groundbreaking exhibition opening in the Floor One Galleries, Rugby Art Gallery and Museum in April 2026!
Curated by Jemma Channing (Senior Manager, Creative Health and Change, Arts Council England) and Dr Sophie Knight (Senior Lecturer, Occupational Therapy, University of Worcester), with creative support from artist Rob Young, the exhibition will illuminate the life-changing impact of occupational therapy through powerful stories, interactive displays, rare archive material – and a brand new artistic commission.
✨ First revealed at The OT Show 2024, Strike A Light will invite visitors to explore how occupation transforms lives.
Want to help shape the exhibition? Complete our quick survey here: Elizabeth Casson Trust – Occupational Therapy Exhibition!— but hurry! The survey closes on 10th August 2025
When formally announcing the Exhibition, Dee Christie, OBE, FRCOT, Chair of The Elizabeth Casson Trust said:
Two years ago, we had an informal chat with Jemma and Sophie. Both had exciting ideas about an ‘exhibition’ to inspire and educate about occupational therapy. Not wanting to let a brilliant idea go we invited them to collaborate and look at the result! An exhibition ‘shining a light’ on the profession. It’s bold, it’s brave and it’s definitely very Elizabeth Casson!
While Dr Kate Turner, Executive Officer at the Trust added:
“I met Jemma and Sophie in my very first week as Executive Officer of the Trust. Their vision for an Occupational Therapy exhibition was compelling. From that moment on, I’ve been continually amazed by the ambition and impact of The Elizabeth Casson Trust. It is a small (but mighty!) Charity, which is, once again, at the forefront of championing the vital profession of Occupational Therapy”.
