Braintree Cognitive Rehabilitation Course

I received funding from the Elizabeth Casson Trust in order to support my attendance to the Braintree Cognitive Rehabilitation Course in 24th and 25th June 2016. This was a two day course that provided very detailed teaching on the assessment and treatment methods for cognitive impairments following brain injury. I work on the impatient stroke service at Derby Hospitals and a large part of my role as clinical specialist is to ensure we provide a high quality standard of care from an OT perspective with our patients. This course has provided me with a great knowledge base in order to structure assessment and treatment for our patients. It enables me to think clearly and systematically when using my clinical judgement on what impairments are affecting the patient and how this can be treated.
