Channel Island Occupational Therapy Conference

Being involved in the planning and hosting the conference has provided me with a multitude of learning experiences that is not limited to the actual day. Without doubt the standard of the speakers promoted a very positive face of the profession while challenging Occupational Therapists to think differently. 95% of those completing evaluations rated the overall conference as excellent, the key speakers and break-out sessions were rated as excellent 95% and 78% respectively.
The value of having such a high quality program planned and delivered by Occupational Therapists in Guernsey is hard to quantify. The director responsible for Occupational Therapy was present throughout the day and feels she has a new understanding of Occupational Therapy value in the work of the organisation.
I have even “stepped up to the mark” by submitted a reflective piece into the Occupational Therapy News on the lessons learnt from planning the conference.
