The Assisting Hand Assessment (AHA)

My role involves working with children with a range of upper limb impairments, many with neurological impairment. The Assisting Hand Assessment (AHA) will enable me to evaluate the effectiveness of the upper limb interventions I provide, thus support the provision of high quality care. It is an evidence-based occupation-focused measure. Through participating in the course, I have developed my clinical observation skills and clinical reasoning to structure assessment and intervention for our service users. This will facilitate me to obtain better functional outcomes for service users in terms of occupational performance, increasing the quality and effectiveness of the service provided.
