Continuing professional development (CPD) is a requirement to maintain registration and is also part of our professional ethos. However, the cost for participating can sometimes be unaffordable for individuals. To help you with this, the Elizabeth Casson Trust offers continuing professional development grants.
We welcome applications from any qualified occupational therapist in the UK. We also have a small annual budget for international applications.
Our FAQs contain useful information to help you; we suggest you take a look before applying. We recommend you look at our strategy before making your application.
Recently, we have started to receive requests from teams who have invited a presenter to come to their department to deliver CPD that is tailored to their particular needs. This approach to CPD is often very cost-effective and may allow more people to participate in the learning with less disruption to your service. We have assisted many therapists undertaking modules for PG Certificates, Diplomas, MScs and completing doctorates. We hope that in supporting this type of CPD, individuals will become skilled at evaluating evidence and translating this into their practice. This is a new, and perhaps the most exciting, area of funding we offer for CPD: funding can be provided for learning activities that are designed by you to meet your needs. These may include study tours or events you have selected by you.
When applying for this funding, you must make sure there are clear objectives and be able to show how these will link to your practice or professional development.
Email Pam Anderson at email@example.com if you are uncertain or have any questions about your ideas for this CPD opportunity.
